Dr. Hatem al-Haj is a distinguished Islamic scholar and educator, recognized for his deep expertise in Islamic jurisprudence and his impactful contributions to Islamic education. With a background in both classical and contemporary Islamic studies, Hatem al-Haj offers a well-rounded perspective on a wide range of Islamic topics, making his teachings highly valuable to students and practitioners alike.
Dr. Hatem holds a PhD in Comparative Fiqh from Al-Jinan University in Tripoli, Lebanon, and a Master’s Degree in Islamic Law from the American Open University, graduating from both with the highest distinction. He currently serves as the Dean of the College of Islamic Studies at Mishkah University, and a member of the AMJA permanent Fatwa Committee. Dr. Hatem is also a medical doctor, board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Hatem’s scholarship is characterized by a rigorous approach to Islamic law, combined with a practical understanding of its application in today’s world. His lectures and teachings cover various aspects of Islam, including theology, jurisprudence, and ethics. Through his work, he seeks to bridge the gap between traditional Islamic knowledge and the contemporary challenges faced by Muslims, providing clear and relevant guidance.
